Pumpkin Pie has a wonderful friend, Cookie. Cookie lives in the neighborhood and they saw each other a lot this summer, but not so much this fall. Pumpkin Pie wanted to play with his good friend Cookie today. This morning we were out and I decided to take a chance and swing by to see if Cookie wanted to come over. I called the house on the way (using my hands-free appliance, of course), but no one answered. So I called Cookie’s Mom, Wendy’s cell phone:
Wendy: Hi! Where are you? (She always asks this, she has to update her internal GPS).
Me: In your driveway, we came to get Cookie. Where are you?
Wendy: Almost in your driveway! Stay put, I’ll be right there.
We wait for the 2 minutes it takes her to get back and Pumpkin Pie hops out to see Cookie in his Halloween costume.
Wendy: Cookie wanted to show you his costume! (Insert appropriate compliments on awesomeness of costume) You guys want to play here or at Pumpkin Pie’s house?
Pumpkin Pie: HERE!!!
It isn’t exactly gift of the Magi, but I would totally
sell my pocket watch to buy her hair combs. I am not sure she would cut her hair for the watch fob, though. She has awesome hair. As long as she lets Pumpkin Pie play at her house sometimes, I am happy to not even wear a watch.
I took myself home to pick up the 17 pairs of shoes that are scattered around my living room and then make lunch. My favorite, Pesto Pizza! Mom-friends are a special kind of awesome!
