Mornings are not Sweet Pea’s best time. His meds have worn totally off and he is in ADHD symptom overload. It is when he is at his most whacktacular. Yesterday morning (with 20 minutes before it was time for him to leave) he was rolling around on the floor with the dog.
Sweet Pea: (Mumbling noises, random words)
Me: Breakfast!
Sweet Pea: (Leaping up and running out of the room, then running back in) What! Hey! Oh! Wow!
Me: Come eat, PLEASE.
Sweet Pea: (to Doodle Dog) Aren’t you excited to see him? Isn’t that awesome?
Me: What are you DOING?! Come eat your food!
Sweet Pea: I was practicing my reaction in case I ever met a dwarf. I think Doodle would really like one.
Me: What? A dwarf? You know these are real people, right? And I think they prefer to be called Little People.
Sweet Pea: No! (Laughing at my obvious stupidity) I mean the magical dwarves.

Korgan, meet Sweet Pea and Doodle Dog. I am not worried about how they will react meeting you, because they *practiced*.
I think Doodle Dog would really like them.
Me: Let me get this straight, you were practicing your reaction in case you ever met a magical dwarf and introduced that magical dwarf to your dog?
Sweet Pea: Yes.
Me: Oh. Uh… Okay.
So Awesome! I frequently practice for encounters with magical creatures. It’s important to be prepared for anything that might happen.
Aaaahahahaha that’s so crazy…if it had been anyone else my initial question would’ve been “what are you on child???”
but under the circumstances let’s all just nod and smile!!!! 🙂
Skittle, You have LOTS of experience with Sweet Pea in the mornings, so you know I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried!!
