With all this
Gawdawful annoying lovely fun snow we’ve had recently and his recent growth spurt, Pumpkin Pie has found himself the proud owner of Pickles’ old snow coat. It has a detachable snappy hood and covers his wrists nicely, two qualities his previous coat sadly lacked. The only downside is that on the off-chance when he hangs it up on his coat hook, the hood unsnaps and the whole thing falls to the floor sending him into fits of screaming. Lucky for us both, the coat has a sturdy tag on the back between the shoulders that works perfectly for hanging (clearly the manufacturer knew the hood’s snap strength was insufficient for hanging) which prompted the following conversation.
Me: Hang up your coat, please.
Pumpkin Pie: I can’t, the hood will fall off!
Me: Oh, let me show you something cool that I figured out yesterday. See this tab here on the back of? You can use it to hang up your coat and it won’t fall!
Pumpkin Pie (deadpan): Oh. I thought that was where you hooked the leash if you took me for a walk.
